Talk about "Catwoman" here:
Review by: Breanne Derby
Plot Summary
This is not the Catwoman from the Batman comics/movies. This is an entirely different story about Patience Phillips, a graphic designer for a makeup company. She discovers a dark secret about the age-reducing cream that is being marketed to the public, and is murdered. Luckily, she is reincarnated as a half-human half-cat, giving her the ability to wear fake ears, and catlike agility, speed, and senses.
Review
This entire film is a pathetic excuse for
Halle Berry to traipse around half-dressed in leather. As a matter of fact, this may as well not even be a movie at all. If the entire thing had been three or four pictures of Halle Berry in the Catwoman suit in a slideshow, it would have gotten the same box-office ratings, would have cost much less to make, and consumed a significantly smaller amount of my time. I didn't find this film to be even remotely entertaining, and the plot was so flimsy and ridiculous that I had the entire movie figured out after the first fifteen minutes. Unfortunately, the trailer shown in theatres was extremely vague, and left me believing that it was going to be the story of Selina Kyle of the Batman comics/movies, but as soon as I had paid for the movie and sat down to watch it, I learned that this was an entirely different Catwoman altogether, with a not so entirely different story to accompany her.
Now, bear in mind that I am open to change, and I did not despise this movie simply because it had stolen the name of another character, and changed the story around a bit. I do not have a Batman obsession, and I would have been entirely okay with the film being about a different Catwoman if it had been any good. But it wasn't any good. The storyline was lousy, and the dialogue pitiful.
Conclusion
All in all, the production was terrible, and I wish I hadn't wasted the hour-and-a-half of my life, because it was wasted, and I never intend to watch this movie again as long as I'm alive. This movie was riddled with CGI where it was painfully obvious that it was not Halle Berry; it was as though they didn't even try to make it remotely real, and throughout the parts where she was Catwoman and not Patience, she did an incredibly irritating walk that no human in their right mind would attempt, ever. I, personally, have been appalled with what Hollywood's been putting out in terms of films lately, and this was an obvious attempt to get a piece of the Spiderman/X-Men pie. I would not advise seeing this movie, and I wouldn't ever purchase it, unless you're playing a prank on someone you really, really hate. This film gets one-half of a star, because it was horrible and it should never have been made.
